How to Change Single Words

Sometimes if you only need to translate a single word you may not want to create an entire translation file. Luckily there is an easy way to do this:

  1. Install “Say What” — http://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/
  2. Visit “Tools > Text Changes”
  3. Create a new Text change with the following settings:
  • Original String:
  • Domain: listify wp-job-manager wp-job-manager-tags
  • Context: leave blank
  • Replacement String:

The domain will be one of the suggestions above or something similar. To find the text domain used by an addon you can open the main plugin file and look for the “Text Domain:” meta information at the top of the page.

Pro tip: To find the original string, have a look inside your listify.pot file (listify/languages/listify.pot) for the exact string. You’ll need to use the string in the Say What Plugin. If you notice the string is on multiple lines, then Say What Plugin will not be able to translate the string.
